Saint Jude Thaddeus

Most holy Apostle, Saint Jude Thaddeus, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the Church has honored you for centuries as patron of hopeless cases and things nearly despaired of. Pray for me in my time of need; ask the Lord to send help where help seems impossible, and hope where hope has nearly failed. I place before you this cause, trusting in your powerful intercession before the throne of God. Obtain for me the grace to bear my trials with faith, and if it be God's will, the swift relief I seek. In gratitude I will make your name known and loved, that others in despair may also find comfort through you. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Saint Jude Thaddeus, cousin and Apostle of the Lord, I come to you in a moment when nothing before me makes sense and every path seems closed. My mind is overwhelmed, and I cannot see even one step forward, much less a way through. You stood among the apostles who once watched their own hopes collapse at the foot of the cross, and yet you lived to preach the Resurrection with unshakable joy. Quiet the noise of my fear, and ask the Lord to grant me one clear thought, one small mercy, one sign that I am not abandoned. I do not ask you to explain what is impossible for me to understand — only to carry my confusion to God, who makes a way where I can see none. Stay near me in this hour, Saint Jude, until my mind is calm enough to hear whatever He wishes to tell me. Amen.

Saint Jude Thaddeus, patron of the desperate and the deadline, I run to you now because time is short and the need before me will not wait. Humanly speaking, there is no way for things to turn out well within the hours I have left — but I believe that what is impossible for man is not impossible for God. Carry my urgent petition before the throne of grace without delay, and ask the Lord, who once calmed a storm with a single word, to act swiftly on my behalf. I do not presume to tell God how or when, but I beg that His help not tarry, for I have nowhere else to turn and no time left to wait. Saint Jude, you who never fail those who invoke you in their direst hour, plead for me now. Whatever the clock says, let God's mercy arrive in time. Amen.

Saint Jude Thaddeus, faithful Apostle, I come to you not because my circumstances alone are so dire, but because despair itself has begun to take root in my heart. It whispers to me that this situation is beyond even God's reach, that I am foolish to keep hoping, that I should simply give up. Help me resist that voice, Saint Jude, for you know it is a liar — you who preached the Gospel in the hardest of lands and never let discouragement silence your faith. Ask the Lord to rekindle in me the small flame of trust I feel slipping away, and to remind me that hope is not naivety but the very virtue He asks of me. I do not need to feel strong today; I only need enough faith to keep turning toward God instead of away from Him.
