Saints Celebrated Today
The saints whose feast day falls today. — September 13
Every day on the Church's calendar belongs to at least one saint, whose witness the faithful are invited to remember and imitate on that date each year. A feast day isn't a birthday in the usual sense — it traditionally marks the day a saint died and, in Catholic belief, entered eternal life, which is why it is sometimes called a saint's heavenly birthday. Many Catholics look up the saint of the day as a small daily practice, and some choose a patron saint for the year based on whose feast falls closest to their own birthday or name.
