Caring for aging parents can be one of life's most demanding and sacred callings. This prayer asks God for patience, strength, and love as we honor those who once cared for us.
Heavenly Father, You have called me to walk beside those who once cared for me, and now need my hands, my time, and my heart. Give me patience when weariness weighs on my spirit, and gentleness when frustration rises within me. Teach me to see Your face in the tired eyes of my parents, and to serve them as I would serve You. When the days grow long and my strength grows thin, renew me with Your grace, that I may love without measure and give without counting the cost. Grant peace to their hearts, comfort to their bodies, and dignity to their final years. Walk with our family through this season, Lord, and let Your mercy be our strength. Amen.
