Born in the village of Hardin, Lebanon, in 1808, Nimatullah entered the Lebanese Maronite Order as a young man and was ordained a priest. He spent much of his life teaching at the order's seminary in Kfifan, where he was known for his rigorous teaching, humility, and strong devotion to the Virgin Mary and the Blessed Sacrament.
He died in 1858 and was canonized by Pope John Paul II in 2004, becoming one of several Lebanese Maronite saints canonized in the modern era.
