Prayer for Repentance During Lent
Asking for the honesty to name sin and the grace to turn from it
Lent is the Church's traditional season of repentance. This prayer asks for the courage to examine conscience honestly and the grace of true conversion.
Lord, help me see myself honestly this Lent — not to despair over my sin, but to bring it truthfully before you. Give me the courage to confess what I would rather hide, and the grace to actually change rather than simply feel sorry. Renew in me a clean heart, ready to begin again. Amen.
