Prayer for a Sick Friend

Saint Pio of Pietrelcina, you who carried the wounds of Christ in your own flesh and spent long hours in the confessional listening to the sorrows of the suffering, hear my prayer for my friend, who is sick and in need of your intercession. You know what it costs to endure pain with patience, and you never turned away anyone who came to you in affliction. Ask the Lord Jesus, the Divine Physician, to lay His healing hand upon my friend, to ease their pain, and to restore them to health if it be His holy will. Comfort them in their fear, strengthen them in their weakness, and let them feel, even now, that they are not carrying this illness alone. Watch over the doctors and nurses who care for them, and guide their hands with wisdom. And whatever the outcome, Padre Pio, obtain for us both the grace to trust in the Father who loves us.
