Prayer for Return to the Church
Asking for the way back after time away from faith

For anyone who has drifted from the Church, or who prays for someone who has, this prayer asks for the grace of a way back, without shame standing in the way.
Lord, it has been a long time since I walked closely with you, and I'm not sure how to find my way back. Meet me without shame or condemnation, the way you met the prodigal on the road. Give me the courage to take the first small step home, and help me trust that you have been waiting for me the whole time. Amen.

When to Pray This
Pray it when considering returning to Mass or the sacraments after time away, or on behalf of someone who has left the faith.
Benefits of This Prayer
It removes shame as a barrier to return, echoing the Gospel's own image of the father running to meet the returning son.
