Making room for Christ amid a busy season
Advent can be swallowed by preparations for Christmas Day rather than for Christ himself. This prayer asks for a heart made ready to receive him.
Lord, so much of this season is spent preparing a house, a table, and a list of gifts. Help me also prepare my heart. Clear away whatever crowds you out — my distraction, my hurry, my self-focus — and make room for you to be born anew in me this Christmas. Amen.
